Friday, February 25th, 2011

The lovely people at Selvedge are having a Spring Fair in London, with lots of lovely and talented exhibitors selling beautiful crafts and supplies. The event is sponsored by Amy Butler so no doubt, her bright designs will be in abundance.

Liberty loveliness

Friday, January 14th, 2011

Liberty of London create some of the most beautiful fabric designs, especially for their Tana Lawn range, and this spring their collection features designs by Lauren Child of Charlie and Lola and Clarice Bean fame.

I think I feel a trip to London coming on!

The Knitting and Stitching Show

Sunday, October 17th, 2010

I have been waiting to post about my trip to the fabulous Knitting and Stitching show at Ally Pally the other week, but it has taken me this long to remember to take a photo of my stash of goodies in daylight.

The journey there was horrid. All of North London seemed to be on the road and going our way too. Grumble grumble.  Kate who was driving us remained cool and calm even though we spent valuable time on Muswell Hill not inside Ally Pally.

At last we arrived and an early port of call was Selvedge Magazine where they had these amazing scarves and Necklaces by Sophie Digard.  My photo is unfortunately rubbish.

We then moved into the main hall and – Oh wow! soooo many stalls! sooo many beads and sooo much fabric!

Liberty lookie likeys and the real thing for much less than at Liberty’s. I was very good on this stall otherwise I could have easily spent all my budget here.

There was some beautiful work by some very clever and talented people – sorry I did’nt note who this was made by and, it is another rubbish photo

I had sore feet and calves by the time we got home, although I have a stash of some very beautiful stuff. I’m especially pleased with the vintage look printed linen fabric and the lovely coloured tiny beads.  Some it is very likely to appear on some more jewellry in the coming weeks, so watch this space.

Hope and Charlie Shop Is Open!

Wednesday, September 15th, 2010

Ok, I admit it, this is shameless self promotion.

My little Etsy shop Hope and Charlie, is finally open! And there are things to buy! Ok, two, but there’s more to come.  I’m rather chuffed with myself for having managed get Hope and Charlie up and running (with just a little IT support from Mr) and who knows they might even get bought by someone!

Busy busy…

Friday, August 13th, 2010

I’ve been making little button brooches to sell in my new etsy shop Hope and Charlie. Here’s a sneak preview of what’s to come…

There’s more to come, just need a little (ok, a lot) of help with the techy side of things.
See you soon!
